Meet the Robbins family! With an effective date of December 1, 2017, David along with his wife, Meg, became the new leaders of FamilyLife Ministries, following the incredible legacy of Dennis and Barbara Rainey (pictured below).
The announcement came on Wednesday, the 2nd of August, and was met with great enthusiasm by all of FamilyLife staff. Here are a few links that will encourage your heart and remind you (please) to join us in praying through this succession/transition for God to be glorified and the fruit to multiply!
Established in 1976, FamilyLife originally sought to minister to couples and young families who were serving on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ. From that first conference with 43 people in attendance, the need to deliver biblical marriage principles beyond this audience was clear.
Co-founded by Dennis and Barbara Rainey, FamilyLife's mission remains "to effectively develop godly marriages and families who change the world one home at a time".
From its headquarters in Little Rock, FamilyLife staff along with thousands of volunteers work to develop godly marriages and families through Weekend To Remember Marriage Getaways, FamilyLife Today radio broadcasts, DVD resources (The Art of Marriage, FamilyLife's Art of Parenting, Stepping Up), HomeBuilders small group studies and more!
Campus Crusade for Christ International (now Cru) was founded in 1951 by Bill and Vonette Bright on the UCLA campus. What started as a ministry to the students on the UCLA campus now touches the lives of people in every segment of society and in every corner of the world. More specifically, Cru is ministering in more than 190 countries through the 25,000+ staff members.
Dozens of ministries (including FamilyLife) fall under the umbrella of Cru whose overall mission is "launching spiritual movements by winning, building and sending Christ-centered multiplying disiples." The U.S. Campus Ministry has a presence on more than 1,100 campus locations with more than 63,000 students involved. From Athletes in Action to The JESUS Film Project to Military Ministry, God is at work through Cru in a multitude of ways!
Effective January of 2012, Campus Crusade has adopted a new name and logo for its entire U.S. ministry. The new name is Cru and the logo is shown below. Unchanged is the commitment to share the transforming grace and forgiveness of the gospel through Jesus Christ. This announcement came in the summer of 2011 and answers to frequently asked questions were shared.
Steve Douglass presently serves as president of Cru alongside a board of directors with vast experience and great passion. Cru is a charter member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability.
